We are delighted to welcome Professor dr Jakob de Haan as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Jakob de Haan is Professor of Political Economy at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Currently, he is the President of SUERF. He has published extensively on issues like fiscal policy, public debt, monetary policy, central bank independence and transparency, exchange rates, banking, financial sector supervision, income inequality, political and economic freedom and European integration. Jakob de Haan is in the top 5 percent of the worldwide ranking of economists.

Manthos Delis, Audencia Business School, France
We are delighted to welcome Professor Manthos Delis as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Manthos Delis is currently Professor of Financial Economics at Audencia Business School – France. He has been a full professor since the age of 33 and IDEAS ranks his research among the top 1% economics researchers in the world (last 10 years). His current research emphasizes the role of sustainable finance (especially bank credit) in modern societies. More than 50 of his papers are published in top-tier journals, with 10 publications in FT-listed journals.

Sushanta Kumar Mallick, Queen Mary, University of London, UK
We are delighted to welcome Professor Sushanta Mallick as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Sushanta Mallick is Professor of International Finance at the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary, University of London. His main research interests include issues in international macroeconomics & finance, and development policy. He is managing editor of the Journal of Oxford Economic papers, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economic Surveys and Economic Modelling and Co-Editor of the Economic Analysis and Policy.

Evi Pappa, Universidad Carlos III Madrid, Spain
We are delighted to welcome Professor Evi Pappa as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Professor Pappa is currently a Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. Her research focuses on topics at the intersection of macroeconomics, monetary policy, and public finance within developed economies, from both closed and open economy perspectives. She is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a member of the Euro Area Business Cycle Dating Committee (EABCDC). Additionally, she serves on the panel of experts for the Centre for Macroeconomics (CFM).

Willi Semmler, The New School for Social Research, USA
We are delighted to welcome Professor Willi Semmler as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Professor Semmler is currently the Arnhold Professor of International Cooperation and Development. He is a Research Fellow at the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis and at IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria. Additionally, he is a Research Fellow at La Sapienza University in Rome and is affiliated with Bielefeld University. His research interests include empirical macroeconomics, the macroeconomics of the U.S. and the EU, financial markets, the economics of climate change, business cycles, and macroeconomic dynamics.

Harald Uhlig, University of Chicago
We are delighted to welcome Professor Harald Uhlig as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues (AEFI). Harald Uhlig is the Bruce Allen and Barbara Ritzenthaler Professor in Economics and the College in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. His research interests are in macroeconomics, financial markets and Bayesian econometrics, and in particular at the intersection of these three.
